Terms of Service

NotesLite+ is a workspace for notes, boards and canvas. It is under active development. Version 4 has not launched yet: features described on the marketing site as coming with V4 are not commitments, and we may change, delay or drop them.

Guest mode is available today and needs no account. Registered accounts, paid plans and the collaboration features open with V4.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use NotesLite+, and old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
• You can sign in with an email and password, or with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure - turn on two-factor authentication and keep your backup codes somewhere safe.
• Everything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
• One person, one account. Do not share logins.

A guest session is created on your first visit. Guest work is stored on your own device, not on our servers. That has a consequence worth stating plainly: clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching device or browser will lose it, and we cannot recover it for you.

When you create an account, your guest workspaces and Quick Notes migrate into that account. Until then, treat guest mode as a scratchpad rather than storage.

You own what you create. We claim no ownership over your notes, boards, canvases, uploads or profile.

To actually run the service we need a limited licence: permission to store, copy, transmit and display your content, and to create the derived copies the product needs - backups, search indexes, real-time sync state, and AI summaries you ask for. That licence exists only to operate NotesLite+ for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backup copies that age out on our normal retention cycle.

If you mark a workspace Public, you are choosing to publish it: anyone with the link can read it, it can be listed on your profile, and other users may save copies of it. Do not make a workspace public unless you want that.

Do not use NotesLite+ to:

• Break the law, or infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy.
• Store or share malware, or content that is sexual material involving minors, or that harasses, threatens or incites violence against people.
• Attack the service - scraping at scale, probing for vulnerabilities without permission, circumventing plan limits, or overloading our infrastructure.
• Resell or white-label the service without a written agreement with us.

We can suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.

Pre-registering adds your email address to a list so we can tell you when V4 opens. It is not a purchase, it does not reserve a plan, and it costs nothing. You can ask us to remove you at any time by replying to any email we send or writing to hello@noteslite.xyz.

Prices shown on the marketing site are the prices we currently intend to launch at. They may change before V4 opens.

• Guest and Basic are free. Pro is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout.
• Payments are handled by Razorpay in India and by Polar internationally, routed from the location you set during onboarding. Those providers process your payment details - we never see or store your full card number.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you are already in, and you keep Pro until that period ends.
• If a payment fails, we may downgrade the account to Basic. Content over the Basic limits is not deleted, but it may become read-only until you upgrade again or bring yourself under the limits.
• Taxes may be added depending on where you are.

Beyond the statutory refund rights you have where you live, refunds are at our discretion. If something went wrong, write to us - we would rather fix it.

The AI Summariser reads the content of the workspace you point it at and returns a summary. Two things to be clear about:

• AI output can be wrong, incomplete or misleading. Check anything that matters before relying on it. It is not professional advice of any kind.
• Running a summary sends that workspace's content to a third-party AI provider on our behalf. Which providers, and what we ask of them, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
• Each plan includes a weekly allowance. A summary costs one run for a short workspace and up to five for a very large one; the exact cost is shown before you confirm. Allowances reset weekly and do not roll over.

We aim to keep NotesLite+ running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. There will be maintenance, outages and bugs. We may add, change or remove features, and we may change plan limits with reasonable notice for existing subscribers.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export tools exist for exactly this.

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we are legally required to close, or that has been inactive for a long period, and we will give reasonable notice unless the circumstances make that impossible.

On deletion we remove your content on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data beyond what we can restore from our own backups.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited - including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give notice - by email, or in the app - before it takes effect. Continuing to use NotesLite+ after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, stop using the service and, if you are on Pro, cancel.
